Youth Basketball Ministry
On Monday October, 26th was the first night to begin our Youth Basketball Ministry after taking a summer break. Ministry leaders George (Faith Church), Rick Sterley (Valley Worship Center) and Bill Borgard (Fairview Village Church) began the evening introducing new Executive Director Brian Akamine and Family. They were excited to see the new renovation and building improvements too! The Norristown Youth were given an overview of this year's program which will include interactive devotions, DVD excerpts provided by Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and future basketball clinics and testimonies from college & professional athletes. It is our vision to form a basketball team to compete with other local basketball organizations.
This ministry is looking for additional ministry-minded volunteer coaches and is open to the public. For more information contact Rick Sterley at 610 637-1058.
"Operation Warm Coats" & Family Services Partnering Together to Help Norristown Families
On October 27th-29th Family Services & PFF partnered together to distribute new coats to families in need! "Operation Warm Coat" a national program donated over 700 coats to the community. This was another opportunity to partner with community agencies to help those in need. We're excited about this new partnership with Family Service and look forward to collaborating additional programs utilizing our facilities as a distribution center and future family services.
PFF Organizes "Free Flu-shots" for the Norristown Hispanic Community
On Wednesday, November 19 2008 at ACLAMO and Monday, November 24, 2008 at Fountain of Living Waters, Partners for Families coordinated a free "Flu-shot" program sponsored by the Montgomery County Health Department. A special thanks to Mae Lynn Forzato R.N. from the Health Department who took special interest to provide a vaccinations to the often underserved Hispanic community in Norristown. Both locations were staffed with Spanish speaking staff. We are so thankful for her heart of Christ's compassion to make this special arrangment for our community. We had up to 200+ individuals and families receiving the Flu-shots. What a blessing it was to everyone!
